Since I was an infant, my parents made sure I would travel the world. I took my first steps on a Hawaiian Beach and found a love for exploring new places. One of my favorite trips was in December 2017. I traveled with my family to Germany, Scotland, France, and England. It was my first time traveling to Europe, and experiencing other western cultures. St. Andrews, Scotland was truly the most incredible place I have ever visited. The castles, rolling green hills, and Harry Potter like villages were a few of the majical moments I had. I learned a great deal about the history, the love of whisky and beer and different facets of Scottish agriculture. Did you know the sheep to human ratio in Scotland is like no other country? (There are 50,000 more sheep than humans) Also, the fish n chips were to die for.
In my sophomore year of high school my parents took my brother and I on an adventure to Costa Rica. We went to Santa Theresa and stayed in a luxurious hut on the beach. As we were eating breakfast, we noticed something behind the trees making noise. My brother and I rushed over to to find 4 wild horses scavenging for food. It was the most beautiful surprise, and something I could never forget. We gathered fruits and veggies for them and petted the horses for as long as we could. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
My 18 year old brother, Vincent, just started his freshman year at The University of Colorado, Boulder. I'm proud of him for getting out of his comfort zone and moving somewhere so different to start a new life. As much as I love to travel, I can't imagine living anywhere but Austin, Texas. I'll be making frequent visits to see him in the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
